Beginners Guide to Witchcraft

Witchcraft and Wicca are growing fast among people that are looking for a new way to find a deity. The problem is that they might not know how to start and where to start. It's not as hard as you might think and you can do it with some of what you have at home.
What You Need

There are a few things that you need when you are looking at witchcraft for your religion. Candles are good for the god and the goddess. They are also pretty well priced and easy to use. If you like, you can make your own candles to use. You also should have a heatproof container for burning incense that you create or other spell and ritual purposes.

There are a few optional items that you can use as well, but if you don't have the money to get them right away, don't sweat it. A mortar and pestle is a good way to mix your herbs and to grind them for any of the rituals that you may need to do that for. Altarpieces are also useful to help with visualizing and understanding your deity.

Your First Ritual

After you have your altar set up, you will be ready to do your first ritual or spell. Read a lot to see what kinds of rituals there are and what you would like to do. If none of the ones that you might read about look like something that you want to try, make up your own. The great thing about witchcraft is that it's personal and that you can do it in any way that feels right to you.

Including Family

If you have children you will find that they want to know what you are doing and how they can help. My personal feeling on that is that they should also choose their own path. I tell my children some of what I'm doing and have let them do a few things, but for the most part, I keep them out of what I'm doing. Children don't understand the impact that witchcraft can do. When they are older, I will allow them to practice if they choose to, but not yet

Witchcraft and Wicca is a religion that can be very fulfilling. Many that don't belief call it bull and are not open to learning about it, but those that have open minds seem to gravitate to it. Wiccans or witches do not belief that there is only one way to deity. We know that each religion is a part of the bigger picture and that all good people will get to their gods.
