VooDoo Music Experience to Hhost Kiss, Eminem, Jane's Addiction, Brand New, Among Others
The VooDoo Music Experience has been the reigning concert festival for New Orleans youth since 1998, bringin large names to the Crescent City, including Nine Inch Nails, R.E.M., Fall Out Boy, Lil Wayne, Ben Folds Five, Green Day, and The Beastie Boys. This year, VooDoo celebrates its eleventh year in an array of old-school acts and Southern Comfort tents; a show you die-hard music fans would definitely want to see.
The weekend-long festival begins Friday, October 30, and runs through Sunday, November 1, giving festival-goers a weekend of metal, bluegrass, jazz, rock, and indie music. The major headliners for this year are Kiss, Eminem, Jane's Addiction, Lenny Kravitz, and Widespread Panic. Lesser-known, but still popular, bands include Brand New, All Time Low, D12, Silversun pickups, Wolfmother, and Mutemath. These are just a few names of the weekend's 60-plus lineup.
In addition to great music, VooDoo will be following its other widely-known traditions, including the Bingo! Parlour tent where you can see amazing acrobatics in a circus-style setting, the portable tattoo and piercing shop where the shop minimum is $80, the Soco Dome for those 21 and older, merch tents selling everything from t-shirts to crystal ball fortunes, and all the Louisiana bayou cooking you would ever want.
Tickets are $169 for the entire weekend, and $465 for the VIP passes. Weekend passes allow in-and-out privileges, where you can come and go whenever you want. VIP passes give you seating on the stage for every performance, backstage access for some performances, free food buffets for the entire weekend, a private bar, and stadium seating for those who don't want to sit stage-side.
